“Make [it] better” – That was the theme of the Japanese machine tool manufacturer Yamazaki Mazak Corp. at the world’s leading metal processing trade fair (EMO) in Hannover, dated September 16 to 21, 2013. More than 2100 exhibitors from 43 countries presented their innovations in production and the theme “Intelligence Production” to an international audience.

Dipl.-Ing. Oliver Adams, who is responsible for the subproject self-optimizing production process and researches into the issue “model-based predictive force regulation in milling”, had the possibility to run a small exhibition area at the Mazak stand. The cooperation between the WZL and the Japanese Group already exists for quite a long time. Due to this cooperation, the Cluster of Excellence also uses a Mazak machine for some milling work.
