The European Conference on Management Leadership and Governance (ECMLG) deals with the increasingly prominent topics relating to corporate governance management and management concepts, the administration of resources of the corresponding organization and also the interaction between company management and management structures. Topics that are important for the smooth research process, regarding the interdisciplinary work and agility in teams, especially in large scientific research associations such as the Cluster of Excellence. The ECMLG has been taking place for 16 years and has gathered its participants over the years in various countries, including England, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Austria and Croatia. What were your personal impressions of the conference?

This year's ECMLG was my first conference, especially the exciting international exchange is something that I take away from the experience. It was also interesting to see how different topics were discussed and how different the approaches to them are.

How can you briefly break down your lecture topic and what is its relevance for the scientific community?

It was a presentation of the research project in the cluster: How can the idea of IoP be implemented in existing organizations? It is about acceptance research on different levels of employees in organizations. A qualitative study is currently underway on success factors and challenges in the implementation of the IoP. Qualitative interviews are being conducted with members of the IAB (Industrial Advisory Board) at management level. This is the first phase of four that will encompass research over the next few years.

How is your research topic embedded in the IoP complex?

My topic is the investigation of the interface between scientific research and practical implementation in companies - with a focus on the “human part” of technological developments. How do you rate the implementation of such an online format in times of corona? Basically, I think the implementation is good because travel time and costs as well as the associated emissions can be avoided. However, personal contact is of course more difficult, and so is networking at such an event.

Basically, I think the implementation is good because travel time and costs as well as the associated emissions can be avoided. However, personal contact is of course more difficult, and so is networking at such an event. Small talk and fleeting conversations in a physical situation would certainly much easier and therefore more interesting.
