Book Publication - Cyber-Physical Systems

23/09/2016

On September 23, 2016, the publication of the textbook "Cyber-Physical Systems: Foundations, Principles and Applications" was announced (published by Elsevier). The editors of the book, which was issued by international cooperation, are Prof. Houbing Song (West Virginia University, USA), Prof. Danda B. Rawat (Georgia Southern University, USA), and the two CoE-professors: Prof. Sabina Jeschke (IMA / ZLW & IfU) and Prof. Christian Brecher (WZL). The issue is closely related to our CoE.

The book is part of the series "Intelligent Data-Centric Systems: Sensor Collected Intelligence" and contains 27 papers (peer-reviewed) on cyber-physical systems (CPSs). It highlights both the fundamentals as well as concepts and application examples. Readers gain an insight into the scientific perspective on design and implementation of CPSs and thus receive the possibility to implement these systems also in engineering practice. The volume addresses central questions: What design principles do CPSs follow to ensure high stability and robustness in dynamic environments? How can effective metrics and methods be constructed to verify and certify widespread and complex CPSs? Which control and regulation principles underlie real-time dynamic control and behavior adaptation? What influences have applied infrastructures such as Clouds, different types of networks, etc. on these regulations? How can new insights gained from data be used to improve systems continuously and to generate new products and services?
