Best Paper Award for Thomas Thiele
Cluster researcher Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Thiele from the Cybernetics Lab IMA/ZLW & IfU was honored with the Best PhD Award in the context of the 13th International Conference on Intellectual Capital, Knowledge Management & Organisational Learning (ICICKM) in Ithaca, New York.
In his paper “Data-driven Organization Engineering: Detection of Innovation Synergies with Data Analytics” Thiele suggests a new procedure supporting cooperation processes in research networks. In the context of Cross Sectional Processes the Cluster of Excellence provides a use case for the research concerning methods in support of ongoing cooperation. The project belongs to the activities of Scientific Cooperation Engineering. The procedure which was developed by Thiele is based on a combination of Text Mining and Machine Learning and complements the classic portfolio of physical measures for replacement and networking: In a prototypical implementation the procedure is applied as Recommender for potential cooperation partners. A central element is the depiction of data by a user customization graph.
