Collaboration between Seoul National University and RWTH strengthened
On June 26, Matthias Brockmann, Managing Diretor of the Cluster of Excellence, gave a lecture on the topic of interdisciplinary learning and hosted a seminar on the topic of „Internet of Production-Research Roadmap of RWTH Aachen University for Industrie 4.0“ at Seoul National University within the framework of his stay abroad in Korea. The lecture was given with professors and students of the SNU as well as industry representatives present.
The focal point of the international meeting was the broad range of opportunities and possibilities of international collaboration. Seoul National University is handeled as one of the most prestigious universities in Asia and is characterized by a high involvement in the research of textile technology and the affiliated industry. The cooperation with RWTH University's competences in the field of manufacturing technology and robotic, which has been stabilised by a proposal on the topic of World Wide Lab, opens up new possibilities of international technical collaboration and cooperation. Matthias Brockmann assesses the meeting as a valuable opportunity for streghtening the bond between the German and Korean research collaboration: „The collaborative research is to be strengthend especially by means of our 'Memorandum of Understanding' with Seoul National University as one of the leading technical Universities in Korea. The competences of Korean universities in the field of Information and Communication Technology are important factors of the international research collaboration.“
