On November 10, 2017, the CoE presented itself and its research at the RWTH Science Night „5 to 12“ with the debut of a special gimmick. This year, the WZL supported the Cluster by providing a sensory version of the well-known funfair game "Hau-den-Lukas 2.0" to provide a fun-based contribution in addition to the scientific contributions. The machine went down well with the visitors. In addition to rankings for men, female guests wielding hammers and the visting children were able to force up the LED-stripes to the highest light marker. "Sturdy" science with a big twinkle in the eye. In addition to the exhibition of the numerous institutes and projects, the science slam, lectures on many exiting topics of STEM and Humanities alike, Institute tours and a laser show were the absolute highlights of the evening which was once again, this year in the new lecture building C.A.R.L, an very entertaining event. Naturally, the subsequent „Night of the Professors“ which entails Professors as DJs who deliver an outstanding performance to the avid partygoers, could not be missed and brought this year’s Science Night to an excellent end.
