Excellent science without borders: Interdisciplinary and international
A core element of science consists of modern research on a high degree of potential and opportunities in the exchange within a specialist community, the glance at potentials beyond (specialist) boundaries, the exchange and comparison on an international level. For experts (within the scope of their financial and political possibilities) country or language barriers tend to play only a minor role. Experts in their communities are primarily focused on the potentials that arise from dialogue, mutual inspiration and also cultural differences, different philosophies and, of course, competition. The competitiveness of the science location and also its ability to innovate is determined by the degree of integration in the scientific discourse, value chains and global knowledge flows. Exchange is elementary for success.
The IoP provides funds for cooperation with internationally established guest researchers (professors, junior researchers and doctoral candidates) from the above-mentioned institutions. The aim is to promote international research in the research areas of the Internet of Production.
In its activities, the IoP is guided by the Federal Government’s Strategy for the Internationalization of Education, Science and Research.
