After the great success of the Aachen Polymer Optics Days in the past years, the international conference will take place for the fourth time in autumn 2020 and offers the participants a varied program with exciting topics, among others:

  • Materials in optics manufacturing
  • Tool and mold making for optical applications
  • Injection molded optics
  • Metrology and optical systems

The spectrum of optical plastic components is constantly expanding to include innovative manufacturing technologies, materials and products. The aim of the conference is to take up material-related as well as technology-oriented and application-related aspects and to examine them against the background of current trends and questions in the field of polymer optics.

The conference Aachen Polymer Optics Days is a joint event of the three research institutions Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT, Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV) in Industry and Trade at RWTH Aachen University. The event was launched in 2014 with the aim of establishing a technology and application-oriented conference in the field of optical plastics processing. Since then, numerous speakers from industry and research have enriched the conference with exciting lectures on innovations and trends in optical plastic production. The topics of the events range from classical injection moulding to material-related issues and aspects of digitalisation in production.
